i surrender!
i have heard it from soo many people to update this page so here's my update! three weeks vacation, a broken router and now i can't figure out how to upload my pics. so i'm working on it! stay tuned for some better news! oh, eric said he'd help me figure this picture thing out... that was before he was sucked into the world of x-box. hmm, maybe if his x-box was mysteriously broken... hmm, then my blog would have pictures!!! ha! fat chance! in know more about uploading my pictures than how to destroy the x-box!

one of my favorite places on earth is also one of the hardest places on earth to get to from our front door! yikes! not really, but it is a very long car trip! we had an amazing week at the cabin in colorado. we took full advantage of the 75-80 degree weather and spent almost every minute outside! (and we have the mosquito bites to prove it!) unfortunately there were some fires in a nearby city and so our lovely pristine blue skies were smoke filled and hazy most of the time we were there. we fully enjoyed the scenery and, since the snow pack was in the 400 inch range, the mountains were the most green and most flower filled they have been in years. coming from the desert, the green and cool weather were so nice to escape to. some highlights of our trip were learning to skip rocks in the pond (andrew), hiking, reading books (georgia), riding horses, spotting deer, elk and a coyote, making s'mores, fishing with andrew (eric), and just enjoying the time we had together. we love our cabin and wish it wasn't so far away. i think it took us a good 12 hours to drive home. (mostly due to potty and eating breaks for the kiddos) but, thankfully the kids were hooked up to the dvd player and were amazingly good considering the length of the ride. are we planning a return trip soon? no way! not until next year! that trip was just a little too long for my liking!
